The Platinum P51 brings SK hynix's vertically integrated SSD design — in-house Alistar controller, 238-layer 3D TLC NAND, and firmware — to the consumer Gen5 segment. Sequential performance reaches about 14,700 MB/s read and 13,400 MB/s write.
Efficiency is the differentiator: the P41 lineage's performance-per-watt focus carries into Gen5, keeping thermals manageable in standard M.2 slots without bulky cooling. The drive targets enthusiast desktops, workstation scratch volumes, and Gen5-equipped gaming builds.
