The PM1743 is Samsung's PCIe Gen5 enterprise SSD, combining a proprietary Gen5 controller with sixth-generation V-NAND. It reads at up to 14,000 MB/s sequentially with 2.5 million random read IOPS, roughly doubling Gen4 throughput for storage-bound server workloads.

Samsung quotes about 30% better power efficiency per gigabyte transferred versus its prior generation, and the drive was among the first Gen5 eSSDs qualified on major server platforms. E3.S and 2.5-inch variants cover current and legacy chassis with capacities to 15.36 TB.
