The 6500 ION targets the capacity tier: 30.72 TB of 232-layer TLC NAND in a single U.3 drive, priced to compete with QLC-based alternatives while retaining TLC write endurance and full-drive write performance without large SLC-cache cliffs.

Primary deployments are AI data lakes, object storage, content delivery, and Ceph-style scale-out clusters where drives are measured in cost per terabyte and watts per terabyte. Power-loss protection and enterprise telemetry are standard.
